VISITOR INFORMATION
We at Blacksburg Christian Church invite you to visit us and to worship with us. We would like to welcome you to our church family and ever-growing congregation!
Each Sunday, we have a time of fellowship, a Sunday school hour with adult and children’s classes, and a worship service. About one hundred people gather weekly to worship and celebrate the Lord’s Supper (Communion). Our Communion table is open to all believers. Church dress for us is typically comfortable and informal. Our worship service style is generally traditional with wonderful piano and organ music, a choir, and hymns. Each Sunday, a special message is offered to the children and a nursery is provided for children from infant through kindergarten ages.
Three adult Sunday school classes are offered – one following a scripture-based curriculum, one exploring contemporary topics from a Christian perspective, and a new devotion/ discussion class geared specifically toward young adults. The children’s Sunday school program includes classes for the High School/ Middle School, Elementary, Preschool, and Nursery age groups.
On Wednesday evenings, we have a mid-week Bible study over the supper hour. Brown Bag Bible Study allows folks a chance to fellowship together over supper and to study the Word of God. Our studies and topics for discussion vary throughout the year.
The Women's ministries are very active at Blacksburg Christian Church. Two Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF) groups meet monthly for fellowship, Bible Study, and ministry and community outreach projects.
The church family gathers frequently for large fellowship meals which give us an opportunity to get to know each other and spend time together. Throughout the year, we enjoy monthly fellowship gatherings including an Easter Meal and Egg Hunt, Fish Fry, Ice Cream Socials, Swim Parties, "Trunk-or-Treating", a Thanksgiving Feast, and a Christmas Eve Service followed by a brief social.
Won't you consider visiting us? We would like to get to know you! When you visit, be sure to pick up a Welcome Packet.
